I was looking through older questions on here about people losing their virginity and people are so damn judgmental about it!!!

Numerous amounts of comments I have read are people saying that you should either wait until you’re 18 or married, because “then you might actually know what you’re doing.” Not really. You’ve never done it before!

And this is coming from someone who has only had 2 sexual partners (That’s not a lot in my book, but according to a whole bunch of people on YA, I guess I’m a slut.)

I do think giving it up to everyone is! Surely, having numerous amounts of partners when you’re a teenager is a little ridiculous, but judging someone based on the age when they lost it? I just don’t get it. And it’s not “morals”, because you can be a moralistic person and still have sex.

I just don’t think virginity is something you hold on to soooo deeply. Sure, value it and respect your body and do it with someone you love and are comfortable with. You can be in love at 15!!! I mean, if it’s someone you love (or think you love) and feel it’s right, I think it’s OK. It’s not a life altering thing. And most people who have had sex can agree with me.

News flash to the people who are saving themselves for some perfect, life-altering event and judging others in the process – you’re in for a surprise. Sure sex can be quite enjoyable with practice – but the first time it’s most likely going to hurt and it’s going to be QUICK.

So, this goes out to the guy that called a 14 year old a “nasty slut” because she lost her virginity to someone she loved, to the 23 year old woman who hasn’t even kissed a guy because she’s waiting for Mr. Right, to the 43 year old man who was sick of waiting he just paid for it, to the girl who on her 15th birthday lost it to 3 guys in a hot tub and said she “didn’t regret one minute”, and to the 25 year old who wants to restore her hymen in Dubai – I salute all of you.
