The year is 1945. Dubai is little more than a tiny fishing village. But in one small shop on the banks of the creek is a 16-year old apprentice tailor. He’s learning to cut cloth to make the kandoura, the local, traditional dress. Today, 65 years later, he has 18 shops bearing his name and counts the royal family among his customers.
